Public Service Broadcasting Day is being observed today
New Delhi:(Page3 News Network)-The Public Service Broadcasting Day is being observed today in the country.
This day is observed on November 12 every year to commemorate Mahatma Gandhi’s maiden visit to All India Radio studio at the Broadcasting House in New Delhi.
It was on this day in 1947, that Gandhiji spoke on radio to the refugees from Pakistan, stationed at a camp in Kurukshetra, Haryana.
It was Gandhiji’s first and last visit to AIR studio. Gandhiji always emphasized on the service and advocacy aspect of media, two important pillars of public service broadcasting.
